When the opportunity presented itself for a birthday trip to Disneyland in the Fall, my only stipulation was staying at the Grand Californian Hotel. \u00c2\u00a0Yes, it’s true, when it comes to hotels, I am a Disneyland luxury resort snob \ud83d\ude42 \u00c2\u00a0Now, don’t get me wrong, I love the nostalgia of the Disneyland Hotel… its beautiful grounds, unique history and terrific detail. \u00c2\u00a0But, when it comes to experiencing the complete Disneyland experience, I NEED<\/span> a little bit of the Grand Californian’s magic.<\/div>\n

When you step onto the curb of the hotel and look toward the massive stained-glass doors, you know you’ve reached the magic. \u00c2\u00a0These doors are absolutely breath-taking with an Arts and Crafts version of Grizzly Peak sparkling off the glass. \u00c2\u00a0If you haven’t had the opportunity to view these stunning doors, they, alone, are worth the trip over to the Grand Californian. \u00c2\u00a0Note<\/span>, however, that since they are automatic\u00c2\u00a0sliding<\/span> doors, you may have to time your viewing just right! \u00c2\u00a0Walking further, the foyer opens into sweeping stories of craftsman splendor. \u00c2\u00a0This is Disney theming at its finest… taking masterful architectural style and infusing it with everything that is magical about the Happiest Place on Earth.<\/div>\n

With its doorstep in the center of Downtown Disney and a private resort guest entrance to Disney’s California Adventure, the Grand Californian is clearly the most convenient and “feet-conscious” of the three Disney-owned properties. \u00c2\u00a0Plus, guests even have the option of paying the extra rate for a first-class view of California Adventure right from their hotel room. \u00c2\u00a0The Grand Californian Hotel doesn’t leave any room for doubt that you are, indeed, inside<\/span> the magic.<\/div>\n

Quick Tip:<\/span>\u00c2\u00a0Guests staying at any of the three Disney-owned properties can take advantage of the private California Adventure entrance inside the Grand Californian… just present a valid room key at the turn-style. \u00c2\u00a0You will likely find much shorter lines and few crowds at the private entrance.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
